Ithaca, NY, Feb 17, 2006 –New bi-monthly informational sessions hosted by the Cornell Business Technology Park are designed to help companies and entrepreneurs tap into the business resources at Cornell University. The sessions, coordinated by the NYSTAR (New York State Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research) Center for Life Science Enterprise, include presentations by representatives on different topics each session. The presentations will usually run from 12:15 to 1 PM. In addition, representatives from Cornell resources will be available to have individual meetings to discuss resources that might apply to specific business needs.
These business outreach sessions are free and open to everyone, including budding entrepreneurs, business owners, or those curious about what Cornell has to offer. The first session is on Wednesday, February 15th, at the Langmuir Conference room, 95 Brown Road, Ithaca, NY. Soda and water will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch for the mid-day presentations.
The first session on February 15th will explore resources available through the Cornell BR Incubator. The BR Incubator is a virtual incubator organized by the S. C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. Johnson School students are matched with projects at start-up and small companies to analyze and solve problems in the areas of marketing and finance, often with strong technology input as well. This program, while not free, is a very inexpensive way for companies to gain access to the many talents and wide business experience of the Johnson School students.
Future business outreach session topics will include:
Cornell CAT (Center for Advanced Technology) Life Science Grants
Nanobiotechnology Center
Center for Materials Research
Library Systems services
Cornell Center for Technology, Enterprise, and Commercialization
